What to expect...

The first step to make is to call or email which can be very intimidating! A time will then be arranged to meet in person or through Skype.
Your first therapy session will be completing an initial

intake where Jennifer will establish a treatment plan.

Each therapy session runs 45-50 minutes.

Jennifer's goal is to provide you with safe and

comfortable environment in order to experience

personal growth.

Counselling services are NOT covered by OHIP. Jennifer's

services may be covered partially or fully by

your extended health benefits. For more information and

options about your insurance coverage, please contact your

insurance provider and inform about the provision of

psychological services and/or psychotherapy. Jennifer works under the direct supervision of a Registered Psychologist Dr. Jon Mills Psy.D., Ph.D., C.Psych., ABPP.  It’s the client’s responsibility to know if such receipts are acceptable to your insurance company. Be aware that insurance companies generally only cover a portion of the cost of counselling, usually somewhere in the range of 80%.

Before your appointment, contact your insurance company for details on your coverage. Be sure to verify the following:

  • What psychological services are covered by your policy.

  • Whether or not a receipt from an Ontario Registered Psychologist for services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist by your insurance plan.

  • Who is covered, per person and per family.

  • If the insurer pays a set amount per visit, a portion of the fee per visit, or a total amount independent of sessions.

  • If session length is an issue.

  • If you need a physician’s referral.

  • The procedure for reimbursement

Jennifer bills directly to First Nations with the Non-Insured Health Benefits Program (NIHB) and the Indian Residential Schools Resolution Health Support Program (IRS RHSP). Jennifer is also able to bill Greenshield directly if covered under a psychotherapist. For those who qualify, WSIB also has a Community Mental Health Program that would provide an assessment and therapy sessions if approved.

If you have been in a victim of a crime, you may be eligible for the Victim Response Program (VQRP).

May my heart be kind, my mind fierce and my spirit brave.
